Easy Rabbit Sandwich Tutorial

I have prepared buns from bakery for my kids to bring to school today but they wanted me to make them a sandwich. I have been buying buns quite often this month because of a flu bug(a lazy bug is more likely...hehehe...). So I decided to make a easy sandwich for them today.

Stuff required to make the bunny sandwich:
1.Bread
2.Bread filling of your choice
3.Colored paper
4.Toothpicks
5.Cheese
6.Dried seaweed
7.Strawberry jam
Can your spot the differences?

Steps:

1. To make the rabbit ears, cut colored paper and stick it to toothpicks using double sided tape.

2. Using a bubble tea straw, make a small circle for the rabbit nose.

3. Cut seaweed to form the eyes and nose of the rabbit.

4. Apply blusher to the sandwich using a dab of strawberry jam.

And that's all your need to do.

I bought a cute egg case and put the egg inside. Complete with sauce, packet nuts, a candy and also a packet of milk for recess.

It's Friday! And it's the last day of the month!!! Hurray!!!

Butter Buns

Made these today for the kids. The butter buns had the same filing as the croissants few days ago.  The kids didn't seem to mind that Mummy is lacking creativity as all the buns were done up in the same manner. However, I did put in extra effort today to make some 'flowers' using butter slice cake and bits of candy.

With the constant reminder that I must put some sweets into their lunchbox, I finally remembered to put a small jelly into the box today.

Public holiday tomorrow! Hurray!!!

Monster Croissant

I didn't make any sandwiches since last Tuesday because my little one fell sick and skipped school. Finally made a monster sandwich croissant for the kids this morning and it was huge!!! It filled up the whole sandwich box and I couldn't even fit any fruits in.

The croissants were on offer in the supermarket (that's why the auntie me bought them). Anyway, it was in a bundle of 3 so I only made 3 sandwiches, two for the kids and one for their Daddy. I added lots of lettuces, 2 slices of shaved ham and a slice of cheese.

Their daddy commented that there was too much vegetables in his sandwich so I was thinking the kids would be complaining about their greedy mummy trying to stash all the vegetables into their sandwiches. Surprisingly, they told me they ate the whole sandwich and it was yummy! *Phew!*

I used 4 round stickers and drew on the stickers to create the eyes and stick them to the toothpicks. The 'eyes' on the sandwiches helped to hold the ingredients in. You know how messy kids can be, right?

Simple solution! :)

Super Easy DIY Foodpicks Tutorial

I made a few heart-shaped foodpicks for my kids sandwich box yesterday. They are super easy to make and thought I should share the idea of making simple disposible foodpicks.

STUFF REQUIRED (all shown in the picture below) :
1. Colored paper of your choice (IMPORTANT NOTE : do not use those colored paper that color will run after contact with moisture!)
2. A pair of scissors
3. Double sided tape
4. Toothpicks

*Tip : You could also use those leftover free wrapping paper from the shopping malls instead of buying colored paper! Just make sure it's clean :)
STEPS : Cut out a rectangle and fold into half. Paste the double sided tape to one of the square(blank side) and insert the toothpick in the middle of the square. Fold the other side of the paper to stick on the tape and you will get a square. Cut into heart-shapes as shown in picture.
And you are done! In this case, I used the heart-shaped foodpicks as fishtails in my kids' sandwich box.
There is no limit on the shape, colors and size for the DIY foodpicks. It really added colors to the sandwich box since I do not use artificial food coloring for my kids' food.

Let your creative juice flow! Try it out!
