I have been making Halloween sandwiches but didn't post them on the blog. What I did was pretty simple.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YjwQtPDKbTs/WeSEBGvoIBI/AAAAAAAABM0/5vF2ee6tP9IsbQ8KtV4lCZP-9Qa9SmvFgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_6055.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YjwQtPDKbTs/WeSEBGvoIBI/AAAAAAAABM0/5vF2ee6tP9IsbQ8KtV4lCZP-9Qa9SmvFgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_6055.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I did some seaweed cutting of a ghost house on a piece of cheddar cheese. i did this the night before ad simply placed it on the bread the following morning.<br />
<br />
I only used 3 tools for this sandwich design. A pair of scissor, a old medicine bottle cap and a pair of tweezers. Using a old medicine bottle cap to cut the white cheese, it is a full moon with bats flying around!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fNxHb6Ar-oQ/WeSECzJSORI/AAAAAAAABNA/ZWf7EFAuC5QVBgoWKh0jgBCYmlIhTRfSQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_6059.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fNxHb6Ar-oQ/WeSECzJSORI/AAAAAAAABNA/ZWf7EFAuC5QVBgoWKh0jgBCYmlIhTRfSQCLcBGAs/s200/IMG_6059.JPG" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oG9QWb2mfF4/WeSEDgGDx6I/AAAAAAAABNI/mI2TSf-ZC1YuDyF39QvgRJRrc4goUZREQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_6061.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oG9QWb2mfF4/WeSEDgGDx6I/AAAAAAAABNI/mI2TSf-ZC1YuDyF39QvgRJRrc4goUZREQCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_6061.JPG" width="300" /></a>The other item in the box that I want to share is the dead man's fingers. I cut away some part of the hot dog to make it look like finger nails. I also did some cuts on the hot dog to resemble the wrinkles on the fingers. Add the hot dog to boiling water for a while and you get really gruesome severed fingers. Add some tomato sauce to the fingers to level up on the horror!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A close up look at the severed fingers!</td></tr>

<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Goodness! I realized I have not been updating my blog for almost 6 months! On and off I did make sandwiches but didn't bring myself to post on the blog. I was also recuperating at home last month . Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! Finally got myself to sit in front of the PC to update my blog. Thanks to the motivation as a trainer for the recent sandwich making workshop. I was so excited to conduct a sandwich making workshop last week. 2 wonderful friends came and helped me with the workshop, if not, I wouldn't be able to cope on my own. I enjoyed myself and the participants had a great time too! I did a Step-By-Step course note for the workshop and now I will share it in this post. Let's take a look at a few pictures of the workshop before I share the course notes for the workshop.</span></div>

Well, I was too caught up with work and didn't had the time to post. Better late than never (at least that's what I tell myself).<br />
<br />
This is the simplest tutorial I can think of as long as you have the mooncake mold. <br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IhDMw-CLt70/V-CmcLN1C3I/AAAAAAAABEo/nHTlgMowlJ0/s640/blogger-image-361111848.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IhDMw-CLt70/V-CmcLN1C3I/AAAAAAAABEo/nHTlgMowlJ0/s400/blogger-image-361111848.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It looks very much like a mooncake except that it is a sandwich!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1eVwTfgCvPQ/V-Cmojz51eI/AAAAAAAABE8/PH93uj8D1W0/s640/blogger-image--685208671.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1eVwTfgCvPQ/V-Cmojz51eI/AAAAAAAABE8/PH93uj8D1W0/s200/blogger-image--685208671.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
As I said, it is a super easy tutorial if you have the right tools. Using the top brown piece of bread, use the round cutter and cut out the bread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JZXmjywAhcU/V-Cmq-50GmI/AAAAAAAABFA/q7Zu_9J1oRo/s640/blogger-image-1102200788.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JZXmjywAhcU/V-Cmq-50GmI/AAAAAAAABFA/q7Zu_9J1oRo/s200/blogger-image-1102200788.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next, use the mooncake mold to 'print' on the bread. Yes! it is that simple!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yTRB0MkZevU/V-CmmYUbV0I/AAAAAAAABE4/p2vhAGXzNgQ/s640/blogger-image--604144782.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yTRB0MkZevU/V-CmmYUbV0I/AAAAAAAABE4/p2vhAGXzNgQ/s200/blogger-image--604144782.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
You should get something below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aW4k8K9iXSY/V-Cmd8IRjvI/AAAAAAAABEs/pzQ5XmUlUR8/s640/blogger-image--689909708.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aW4k8K9iXSY/V-Cmd8IRjvI/AAAAAAAABEs/pzQ5XmUlUR8/s200/blogger-image--689909708.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I used 3 slices of bread(including the top brown slice) to give the bread height of a mooncake. YOu can add at fillings you desire.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oShuRrXpu1k/V-Cmkdl2SII/AAAAAAAABE0/sB3fhSvvnlU/s640/blogger-image-625337592.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oShuRrXpu1k/V-Cmkdl2SII/AAAAAAAABE0/sB3fhSvvnlU/s200/blogger-image-625337592.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Finally, I added a piece of 'zhu zai' to the box. Platter up with fruits and it is ready to go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BPEUh0tem7Q/V-CmiYIhG8I/AAAAAAAABEw/LHR8g3NeMQo/s640/blogger-image-737186823.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BPEUh0tem7Q/V-CmiYIhG8I/AAAAAAAABEw/LHR8g3NeMQo/s400/blogger-image-737186823.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Mooncake cheats! Hahaha...</div>

The seaweed will be thin and flimsy, easily breakable at times and you need to be careful when handling the cut out seaweed pieces.<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T45HIuzr_Qk/WPm0s3-G12I/AAAAAAAABJQ/8cpwFgNcT1c/s640/blogger-image-564081938.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T45HIuzr_Qk/WPm0s3-G12I/AAAAAAAABJQ/8cpwFgNcT1c/s320/blogger-image-564081938.jpg" style="cursor: move;" unselectable="on" width="320"></a></div>
<br>
Tools Required - <br>
1. A pair of sharp scissors<br>
2. A pair of tweezers<br>
3. A small straw<br>
4. A butter knife<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Ingredients Needed -</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1. Two slices of bread</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
2. Breading filling of choice ( ham & cheese for this tutorial)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
3. Dried seaweed</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4. A dab of strawberry jam</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I always make the sandwiches using the same method. Find a picture, draw the picture on a piece of paper and cut out it. For this sandwich, I used the cut out as a guide to cut my bread to the same shape. You can use the scissors or the knife to cut out the shape, whichever more comfortable to you). After that I used the dried seaweed and painstaking cut out the seaweed to form the outline of the rabbit, including the eyes and nose. I was so busy cutting and placing the seaweed that I forgot to take any pictures. My bad!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
As shown in the picture, I used the straw (in red) to make the round dot on the rabbit's eyes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wV_8mxkRl8k/WPm0fKm2bnI/AAAAAAAABI0/x-hVXXJTjeY/s640/blogger-image--799969691.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wV_8mxkRl8k/WPm0fKm2bnI/AAAAAAAABI0/x-hVXXJTjeY/s200/blogger-image--799969691.jpg" width="150"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Finding the cheese was too thick, I cut it into halves and placed it on the rabbit's eyes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--_qWWDk7lzU/WPm0Y2x-iII/AAAAAAAABIo/XL1qPUdpVmk/s640/blogger-image--1922291514.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--_qWWDk7lzU/WPm0Y2x-iII/AAAAAAAABIo/XL1qPUdpVmk/s200/blogger-image--1922291514.jpg" width="150"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Once you are done, you should get something like that. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JwDKzcvSokc/WPm0dLsPfdI/AAAAAAAABIw/1vSI9EEm_Kw/s640/blogger-image-1479825732.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JwDKzcvSokc/WPm0dLsPfdI/AAAAAAAABIw/1vSI9EEm_Kw/s320/blogger-image-1479825732.jpg" width="172"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1VvITcHd5fo/WPm0a6dnWyI/AAAAAAAABIs/irlOsFzILxQ/s640/blogger-image-1422729164.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1VvITcHd5fo/WPm0a6dnWyI/AAAAAAAABIs/irlOsFzILxQ/s400/blogger-image-1422729164.jpg" width="400"></a>As the bottom slice of bread need not be so precise in shape, it was only a very rough outline and you couldn't even see the bunny shape. Just need to use scissor or the knife to trim the bread to get the shape.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5z11g4-d1S4/WPm0gxEah_I/AAAAAAAABI4/um11XA_-oK0/s640/blogger-image--971605681.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5z11g4-d1S4/WPm0gxEah_I/AAAAAAAABI4/um11XA_-oK0/s320/blogger-image--971605681.jpg" width="240"></a>Place the ham and cheese between the bread and trim away the excess like what you did for the bottom slice of bread.</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
Pointers to Note : I do not like to throw away food so I put the excess bits back into the sandwich</div>

I added some cheek colors to the rabbit using some strawberry jam. You can use the butter knife to do it but I used a chopstick to dab the 'blusher' on the rabbit instead. </div>

I have started on a part time job and need to spread out my time but nothing can be or should be more important than the well-being of my children. They were sick some weeks ago and lost some weight. I really need to pump them up with food.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jpGnAEP34b4/WPmzCwUYDoI/AAAAAAAABIU/Sr0lyDFLimI/s640/blogger-image--1869767374.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jpGnAEP34b4/WPmzCwUYDoI/AAAAAAAABIU/Sr0lyDFLimI/s400/blogger-image--1869767374.jpg" width="300" /></a>I volunteered to let them choose a design from my sketchbook and the elder one chose a rabbit. She is going crazy over rabbits these days but I really cannot let her keep a real bunny at home. Well, a bunny sandwich is the least I can do. <br />
<br />
<div>
I made their favorite ham and cheese sandwich yesterday and filled the box with quail eggs and fruits.<br />
<div>
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PY2ZwT8DRzo/WPmy8iNiYjI/AAAAAAAABIM/jTbBExjFUDU/s640/blogger-image--1981529006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PY2ZwT8DRzo/WPmy8iNiYjI/AAAAAAAABIM/jTbBExjFUDU/s200/blogger-image--1981529006.jpg" width="155" /></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It is quite tedious to prepare the sandwich as I have not been touching my bento tools for months. The kids were so happy that I am making sandwiches for them again and their friends gathered around them to admire their sandwich during recess. Well, anything to make my kids happy.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I will share the tutorial for this sandwich in the next post.</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Finally I am settling down in front of the PC to update my blog. It was the exam period and time flew by! I even missed Halloween which is one of my favorite sandwich making season.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Back to this tutorial. This tutorial requires more time and effort, therefore I placed it under the difficult level. Ingredient used are basically the same as my previous 2 Pikachu sandwiches just more time needed to crave out the character using dried seaweed. It took me more than 30 minutes to complete the Pikachu on the 2 slices of cheese slice. This time I tried to snap more pictures to share. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ihOgN4bwtNs/V_7Xd6jwteI/AAAAAAAABGY/Qp5_9E0vVqE/s640/blogger-image-1594596874.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ihOgN4bwtNs/V_7Xd6jwteI/AAAAAAAABGY/Qp5_9E0vVqE/s400/blogger-image-1594596874.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ingredients -</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1. Two slices of bread with filling of your choice</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">2. One slice of cheddar cheese</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">3. One slice of white cheese</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">4. One piece of crabstick or flat red candy strip </span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">5. Dried Seaweed</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Tools - </span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1. A pair of sharp scissors</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">2. A toothpick</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">3. A pair of tweezers</span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">4. A small straw</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I copied the picture on a piece of white paper and cut out the Pikachu. The picture should fit the size of the cheese slice. Using a toothpick, I outlined the picture on the cheese. For hygiene purpose, I outline the picture on the cheese with the plastic sheet still on.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-MsMWom6lCXs/V_7Xv3M6AVI/AAAAAAAABG4/wOB7H-wiqEI/s640/blogger-image-563388399.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FApBw133qyM/V_7XshASQNI/AAAAAAAABGw/9OUxVWzgyiI/s640/blogger-image--677600896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FApBw133qyM/V_7XshASQNI/AAAAAAAABGw/9OUxVWzgyiI/s200/blogger-image--677600896.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-MsMWom6lCXs/V_7Xv3M6AVI/AAAAAAAABG4/wOB7H-wiqEI/s640/blogger-image-563388399.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-MsMWom6lCXs/V_7Xv3M6AVI/AAAAAAAABG4/wOB7H-wiqEI/s200/blogger-image-563388399.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">After that I cut out the Pikachu eyes on the dried seaweed. This requires abit of estimation.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CoGnpXRICHI/V_7XuOLi0aI/AAAAAAAABG0/vecSdc5rPzk/s640/blogger-image--1917069934.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CoGnpXRICHI/V_7XuOLi0aI/AAAAAAAABG0/vecSdc5rPzk/s200/blogger-image--1917069934.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Look at the comparison of my cut out seaweed on the picture. This gives a good gauge of the size of seaweed you need.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5E1slZSNlzE/V_7XcO5QLQI/AAAAAAAABGU/jAs6PNU2uH0/s640/blogger-image-1574464184.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5E1slZSNlzE/V_7XcO5QLQI/AAAAAAAABGU/jAs6PNU2uH0/s200/blogger-image-1574464184.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Next, use a small straw to poke a tiny piece of white cheese. Add the small round dot of white cheese to the Pikachu eyes. Note : I will just use the remaining cheese as filling for the sandwich to cut down on food wastage.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aJcjnw_O798/V_7XYiA_SbI/AAAAAAAABGI/aAjPUvko9SM/s640/blogger-image--422403166.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aJcjnw_O798/V_7XYiA_SbI/AAAAAAAABGI/aAjPUvko9SM/s200/blogger-image--422403166.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Cut out the seaweed for the remaining nose and mouth. You can see the face forming on the cheese slice.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ng7TSjAMuQs/V_7XadPIl_I/AAAAAAAABGM/YIq02WBb6q8/s640/blogger-image-1369205530.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ng7TSjAMuQs/V_7XadPIl_I/AAAAAAAABGM/YIq02WBb6q8/s200/blogger-image-1369205530.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GVAu2zPVTYA/V_7XW4tMtpI/AAAAAAAABGE/rcBW1HsMAZE/s640/blogger-image--235053710.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GVAu2zPVTYA/V_7XW4tMtpI/AAAAAAAABGE/rcBW1HsMAZE/s200/blogger-image--235053710.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="150" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I moved on to the arms and using the same method. Cut the seaweed and compare it against the length required. Place the dried seaweed on the cheese slice.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3fOsLj2VBAw/V_7XkVHpFhI/AAAAAAAABGc/kKtBtThZ2Uo/s640/blogger-image-125628077.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3fOsLj2VBAw/V_7XkVHpFhI/AAAAAAAABGc/kKtBtThZ2Uo/s200/blogger-image-125628077.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Next, carve out the outline using a toothpick. You should be able to see the lines on the cheese slice that was previously drawn with the plastic sheet on.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z5rk8kTCgl4/V_7XrHIko2I/AAAAAAAABGs/kZAbApfg-y8/s640/blogger-image--1031443969.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z5rk8kTCgl4/V_7XrHIko2I/AAAAAAAABGs/kZAbApfg-y8/s320/blogger-image--1031443969.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Lastly, cut the dried seaweed in accordance to the size of the ear and tail.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-4WsEw_HcIaw/V_7XpmHAkrI/AAAAAAAABGo/zxCzV5I3gZU/s640/blogger-image--773060889.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-4WsEw_HcIaw/V_7XpmHAkrI/AAAAAAAABGo/zxCzV5I3gZU/s200/blogger-image--773060889.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Place the seaweed on the tail and ear.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Finally I got myself to make sandwich again. This is the 3rd Pikachu sandwich and I guess I need to make another character soon. My kids were saying 'Pikachu again?' when they saw me making the sandwich. This sandwich is definitely more challenging than the last 2 Pikachu sandwiches I made with the use of more dried seaweed to create the Pikachu with folded paws. I will share this sandwich making tutorial in another post. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mXqJ_OBj2Jo/V_7WMWeMUQI/AAAAAAAABFo/xcv0IHYxdng/s640/blogger-image-1227528372.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mXqJ_OBj2Jo/V_7WMWeMUQI/AAAAAAAABFo/xcv0IHYxdng/s400/blogger-image-1227528372.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I wanted the kids to try some greens but I guess they will be super generous to share all the lettuce with their friends. I hope by seeing their friends munching the vegetables, some will go into my kids' tummy also.</span> *fingers crossed*</div>

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I added lettuce, ham bits, egg and their favourite, dried cranberries! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Time to share the making of the Pikachu sandwich. I labelled it as easy because you do not need a lot of tools to get it done. I spent less than half an hour to complete the Pikachu on the 2 slices of cheese.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Tools Required -</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1. A pair of scissors</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
2. A toothpick</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
3. A pair of tweezers</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
3. A small straw<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both;">
Ingredients -</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
1. 2 slices of bread</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
2. 1 slice of cheddar cheese</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
3. Dried seaweed</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4. Red strip candy / tomato sauce</div>
<div style="clear: both;">
5. 1 slice of white cheese </div>
<img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-o_wcUE2YDsk/V9pCGuDoE9I/AAAAAAAABDA/1_UZ7PziMAY/s400/blogger-image--356508431.jpg" width="300" /><br />
I drew the Pikachu on a piece of paper that fit the size of the cheese. You can always print from the Internet if you are too lazy to draw.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G5aQB4KFnbQ/V9pCIj6yrNI/AAAAAAAABDE/8mf5FfxeUjc/s640/blogger-image--784301673.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G5aQB4KFnbQ/V9pCIj6yrNI/AAAAAAAABDE/8mf5FfxeUjc/s320/blogger-image--784301673.jpg" width="240" /></a> Step 1 - Cut out the shape of Pikachu and placed it on top of the cheese slice. Use a toothpick and outline the picture on the cheese. Dot of the eyes, nose and mouth to make markings on the cheese. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<div>
<div style="clear: both;">
Remove the plastic covering of the cheese and use the toothpick to outline the picture on the cheese again. </div>
<div style="clear: both;">
Step 2 - Cut out the eyes of the Pikachu on the paper. Using it as a guide, cut out dried seaweed in the exact same shape as the eyes and placed on the seaweed. You should know where to place the eyes as there should be marking made on the cheese in Step 1.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8mZ7nnJj4xU/V9pCMQJMRVI/AAAAAAAABDQ/az1NGSK9izg/s640/blogger-image--941147595.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8mZ7nnJj4xU/V9pCMQJMRVI/AAAAAAAABDQ/az1NGSK9izg/s200/blogger-image--941147595.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
You can use the paper as a guide as well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WlA4xW2mYkM/V9pCPFpKfQI/AAAAAAAABDY/GQY1Yow2Dug/s640/blogger-image--1597913108.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WlA4xW2mYkM/V9pCPFpKfQI/AAAAAAAABDY/GQY1Yow2Dug/s200/blogger-image--1597913108.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Step 3- Use a small straw and poke on a slice of white cheese. If you do not have any white cheese, simply replace the white cheese with a small piece of flatten white bread. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CavueUfRRS8/V9phSTlObuI/AAAAAAAABDs/105THhmhI-M/s640/blogger-image-153610908.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CavueUfRRS8/V9phSTlObuI/AAAAAAAABDs/105THhmhI-M/s200/blogger-image-153610908.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
Using the tweezers, place the white dot of cheese on the eyes <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-llPj0QC5rj8/V9pCNg0N0II/AAAAAAAABDU/LPeH-gNGzcQ/s640/blogger-image-116565694.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-llPj0QC5rj8/V9pCNg0N0II/AAAAAAAABDU/LPeH-gNGzcQ/s200/blogger-image-116565694.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Step 4 - Cut a small oval on the red candy strip for the red cheeks of Pikachu. If you are unable to get hold of such candy, you can use a piece of crabstick or even some red jam as replacement. It will be more tricky to use jam as it might slide off the cheese. My kids do not like crabstick so I had to use the strip of candy instead.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-N7z8jDur1ho/V9phQ24ZOoI/AAAAAAAABDo/OLfBe4pDTYQ/s640/blogger-image-658816066.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-N7z8jDur1ho/V9phQ24ZOoI/AAAAAAAABDo/OLfBe4pDTYQ/s200/blogger-image-658816066.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Step 5 - Cut a small triangle for the nose and a wavy shape for the mouth. Add some seaweed to the tip of the ears as well. Always compare the seaweed shape to the drawing or printout for a more accurate picture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ju6Czqpqg9Y/V9pCLMGSVyI/AAAAAAAABDM/RSYNaLw5KOE/s640/blogger-image-1851366153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ju6Czqpqg9Y/V9pCLMGSVyI/AAAAAAAABDM/RSYNaLw5KOE/s320/blogger-image-1851366153.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
And your completed Pikachu on a slice of cheese!<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bb97mNKdtoY/V9pCJxeFxPI/AAAAAAAABDI/vHO3f-nraHk/s640/blogger-image--242203275.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bb97mNKdtoY/V9pCJxeFxPI/AAAAAAAABDI/vHO3f-nraHk/s400/blogger-image--242203275.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lEO6maZR_2s/V9pCC19dnkI/AAAAAAAABC4/vbNoxfCH6-M/s640/blogger-image-2114983621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lEO6maZR_2s/V9pCC19dnkI/AAAAAAAABC4/vbNoxfCH6-M/s400/blogger-image-2114983621.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Lastly, you can add the paws of Pikachu with the extra cheese by cutting out 2 semi-circles with the toothpick. I kept the cheese in the fridge and just place it on the bread in the morning. Usually, I will throw all the leftover cheese as extra filling for the sandwich to reduce wastage.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So try it out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Catch Them All!</div>
<br />
<br /></div>

I am so not done with Pikachu. I did 3 sketches and this is the 2nd one. I made this last week but didn't have the time to share it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
My kids are now known as Pikachu killers by their classmates when their classmates saw my kids eating their sandwiches. Hahahaha....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Anyway, the method to make this sandwich is the same as the Pikachu tutorial that I shared earlier on. The only different is that I used ham to create the tongue. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XW3zgr-nlM0/V-CkE0N6SII/AAAAAAAABEI/XuWbwmYGoKM/s640/blogger-image-1136717991.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XW3zgr-nlM0/V-CkE0N6SII/AAAAAAAABEI/XuWbwmYGoKM/s400/blogger-image-1136717991.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I made ham and cheese sandwich and added quail eggs and grapes into the box. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ioiv5I_nrOk/V-CkBBvj_bI/AAAAAAAABEA/AD8kBy21W_A/s640/blogger-image-926501705.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ioiv5I_nrOk/V-CkBBvj_bI/AAAAAAAABEA/AD8kBy21W_A/s320/blogger-image-926501705.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This is the sketch that I used for making the sandwich. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I will not write another tutorial post on this since it is basically the same method used for the first Pikachu sandwich. However, I will still<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;"> share some pictures for making this sandwich here. </span></div>

I was torn between making a Pikachu sandwich or a mooncake sandwich for the kids. Since I promised the kids another Pokémon sandwich, I decided to go along with Pikachu. Pikachu is one of their favorite and it is relatively simple to do. I will share the tutorial in another post. <br>
<br>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EEUd94llbWg/V9pBRHX7R1I/AAAAAAAABCo/prkvU5snuZI/s640/blogger-image-1780409175.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EEUd94llbWg/V9pBRHX7R1I/AAAAAAAABCo/prkvU5snuZI/s400/blogger-image-1780409175.jpg" width="300"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I made a few sketches of Pikachu and decided to start with the simplest one. I used a toothpick to outline the cheese, thus creating the Pikachu's head. I did this the night before so that I could catch a few more winks in the morning. Just slap the cheese on sandwich in the morning and it is done. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JbSIgpTtjGQ/V9pCQgcG7mI/AAAAAAAABDc/jqmsPGtw1OY/s640/blogger-image-20632682.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JbSIgpTtjGQ/V9pCQgcG7mI/AAAAAAAABDc/jqmsPGtw1OY/s320/blogger-image-20632682.jpg" width="240"></a></div>
The recess box consisted of an egg, some grapes and a mochi. I wanted to turn the egg into a Pokeball but I didn't have the time. <br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D3kkEkxdKdc/V9pBSp2cXkI/AAAAAAAABCs/HT_qoh0tAe0/s640/blogger-image--1587177227.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D3kkEkxdKdc/V9pBSp2cXkI/AAAAAAAABCs/HT_qoh0tAe0/s400/blogger-image--1587177227.jpg" width="300"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Anyway, Happy Mid Autumn Festival!!! </div>

School holidays over. It's been a long time since I last made sandwiches for my kiddos. With the latest craze of Pokemon Go, I made them a Pokemon Go sandwich. I didn't have time to make those cute Pokemons sandwich yet so I came up with something simple. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xh4pXw1ElMY/V9gC-YxtX9I/AAAAAAAABCY/CjF0flgtuQk/s640/blogger-image--152326298.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xh4pXw1ElMY/V9gC-YxtX9I/AAAAAAAABCY/CjF0flgtuQk/s640/blogger-image--152326298.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Instead of the regularly red Pokeballs, I made the yellow Ultra ball sandwich for my kids. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Oh0XyYBL0rg/V9gC9DFcEDI/AAAAAAAABCU/bv5O7ZV6Atg/s640/blogger-image--550062142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Oh0XyYBL0rg/V9gC9DFcEDI/AAAAAAAABCU/bv5O7ZV6Atg/s640/blogger-image--550062142.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
At least their friends will know what this sandwich is about. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Been busy doing some assignments that I didn't have time to make sandwiches for the kids.</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the past few years without fail, I will make National Day sandwich for the kids. However, I give this year amiss as I was really tied up.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway, just to share the past 3 years' National Day sandwich that I made instead.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-83SgM8-nv9s/V6l9TeA93wI/AAAAAAAABBw/EuGVt9tt7-I/s640/blogger-image-612086786.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-83SgM8-nv9s/V6l9TeA93wI/AAAAAAAABBw/EuGVt9tt7-I/s640/blogger-image-612086786.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It all st<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">arted with the Singapore flag as I was doing he same thing since they were in kindergarten. 2014 was still the same flag but last year was SG50, so I made a special sandwich to commemorate the occasion. </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I really hope I can find time to continue making cute sandwiches for my children. After all, in a few years time, they would not be little kids anymore wanting eat my sandwich creations. Definitely not looking forward to that day. They grow up too quickly!</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Happy National Day! Happy Birthday Singapore!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
As promised, I am going to share the tutorial on how to make the Pompompurin on the slice of cheese using dried seaweed. I thought it would look nicer if I cut the bread into a circular shape and add decoration around the rim, thus 'framing' up the picture. Anyway, I was feeling sleepy and just stick to making the picture on the cheese. Hehehe….</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
You do not need a lot of stuff to make this but there are a lot of cutting, estimation and drawing/tracing required for this tutorial. Therefore, I categorized it under Intermediate Level instead of Easy Level. Time needed for this will depend on how fast you work. I took more than 20 minutes because I was making 2 Pompompurin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OdsS0Z_aaaM/V4TJS1yNULI/AAAAAAAABA0/1VaOK9JKdic/s640/blogger-image--1468345869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OdsS0Z_aaaM/V4TJS1yNULI/AAAAAAAABA0/1VaOK9JKdic/s200/blogger-image--1468345869.jpg" width="200"></a></div>
List of Stuff Needed -<br>
1. A pair of sharp scissors<br>
2. A slice of cheese<br>
3. Dried seaweed<br>
4. A slice of bread<br>
5. A piece of white paper/tracing paper/baking paper<br>
6. A pair of tweezers<br>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I surfed the net and found an easy picture that I could trace/draw on a white piece of paper. I outlined the size of the cheese slice on the paper so that I know exactly how big the picture would appear on the cheese. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wAMYL9EwBKw/V4TJWN4MWrI/AAAAAAAABA8/ZK9wjr0R6l8/s640/blogger-image--822407173.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wAMYL9EwBKw/V4TJWN4MWrI/AAAAAAAABA8/ZK9wjr0R6l8/s320/blogger-image--822407173.jpg" width="240"></a></div>
<br>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
STEPS -</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1. Draw/trace the picture on a piece of paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
2. Cut out the hat of Pompompurin from the paper and use it to cut the shape of the seaweed.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
3. Place the 'hat' on the cheese slice as shown in the picture. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-AnBMXyaudxk/V4TJQMvBO8I/AAAAAAAABAs/SBfiE1weM0s/s640/blogger-image--1505057455.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-AnBMXyaudxk/V4TJQMvBO8I/AAAAAAAABAs/SBfiE1weM0s/s200/blogger-image--1505057455.jpg" width="150"></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Mi223qrBMv0/V4TJa3YAwYI/AAAAAAAABBI/lOUs60Z4MTU/s640/blogger-image--334453368.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Mi223qrBMv0/V4TJa3YAwYI/AAAAAAAABBI/lOUs60Z4MTU/s200/blogger-image--334453368.jpg" width="200"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4. Use a seaweed puncher to punch out the nose, eyes and mouth. Place it on the cheese in accordance to the picture you drew using the tweezers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I punch out the eyes and nose as I was too lazy to cut free hand. I find it very difficult to cut a perfect circle especially super small ones. I used the eyebrow of the puncher to create the mouth of Pompompurin. It could be done without the puncher of course, but why torture myself when I could have the easy way out. Ha…</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K-O1-hJs49s/V4TJY_ogtAI/AAAAAAAABBE/j2qZYsoFBl0/s640/blogger-image-1951158143.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K-O1-hJs49s/V4TJY_ogtAI/AAAAAAAABBE/j2qZYsoFBl0/s200/blogger-image-1951158143.jpg" width="150"></a></div>
5. There is no way I could punch out the ear that is like a 'J' using the puncher. I had to use the scissors and cut it out on the seaweed. Use 2 pieces of seaweed and cut out the 'J' together. This will ensure that you have 2 symmetrical ears of Pompompurin and save you the hassle of cutting one by one.<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NM5zNB3XV4g/V4TJXiZBQFI/AAAAAAAABBA/8ZWP4Djg1QM/s640/blogger-image--2132172383.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NM5zNB3XV4g/V4TJXiZBQFI/AAAAAAAABBA/8ZWP4Djg1QM/s400/blogger-image--2132172383.jpg" width="300"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
There is a lot of agar-ration when making this picture. You can also place the piece of paper over the chefs to ensure the seaweed is placed correctly. However, please be mindful not to let the paper touch the food. After all, no one likes contaminated food.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LWmTlRb0HVI/V4TJU0miS_I/AAAAAAAABA4/JdkT4iquezo/s640/blogger-image-1221139635.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LWmTlRb0HVI/V4TJU0miS_I/AAAAAAAABA4/JdkT4iquezo/s640/blogger-image-1221139635.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Happy Pompompurin!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Cheers!</div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">I must pick up the pace for making sandwiches for kids. Relied too much on buying sandwiches and using sandwich bags for convenience until I am getting lazy. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, I brought my kid to the Pompompurin Cafe during the June school holidays and of course they wanted me to make a Pompompurin sandwich for them. I didn't have time to buy yellow bread so I ended up doing it on a slice of cheese instead. I will share the making of the Pompompurin picture on the cheese in another post. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TI2BYin0NU4/V4TJtluSsiI/AAAAAAAABBc/SwIl_deMFWw/s640/blogger-image-527303706.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TI2BYin0NU4/V4TJtluSsiI/AAAAAAAABBc/SwIl_deMFWw/s400/blogger-image-527303706.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">I spread jam and instead of putting the cheese into the bread, I lay it on top with the picture of Pompompurin on it. It was kind of last minute put together job and I didn't have any Pompompurin sticker to go along. Desperate, I started drawing on the drink bottles. It was free hand drawing and no room for mistakes. Heng! I managed to pull it off.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6rTN8TLHN7k/V4TJpu8p1tI/AAAAAAAABBQ/dzTsWfgW3PE/s640/blogger-image--253164183.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6rTN8TLHN7k/V4TJpu8p1tI/AAAAAAAABBQ/dzTsWfgW3PE/s200/blogger-image--253164183.jpg" width="200" /></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UWw_1uBBEV4/V4TJoSEf8CI/AAAAAAAABBM/V2cW7SYILk4/s640/blogger-image--366977649.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UWw_1uBBEV4/V4TJoSEf8CI/AAAAAAAABBM/V2cW7SYILk4/s200/blogger-image--366977649.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I did the seaweed cutting the night before and left it in the fridge. All I need to do in the morning is to spread the jam and place the cheese on bread! </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I added quail eggs, soy sauce, biscuits and fruits to go along. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Aii9YUzQ_AA/V4TJq1IOEII/AAAAAAAABBU/kfqMCE3zzZs/s640/blogger-image-1552474068.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="377" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Aii9YUzQ_AA/V4TJq1IOEII/AAAAAAAABBU/kfqMCE3zzZs/s400/blogger-image-1552474068.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Most of their classmates were not familiar with the character but those who went to the cafe, they get it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Did you get it?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Happy Pompompurin Day!</div>

On and off I still prepare food for my kids just that I find nothing interesting to post. Today, I decided to complete the sandwich box from scratch within the time limited during morning rush.<br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I always suggest the prep work to be done the night before. For this sandwich today, I didn't even prepare anything at all...nothing at all</span><span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">. It took me a good 20mins to prepare the 2 sandwiches. </span></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Lwey-hTDpIg/V39t0qHKu1I/AAAAAAAABAU/xt2b_qiDE5U/s640/blogger-image--360311693.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Lwey-hTDpIg/V39t0qHKu1I/AAAAAAAABAU/xt2b_qiDE5U/s320/blogger-image--360311693.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Steps- </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
First thing is to boil the eggs and set the 8mins timer. After that, wash a plate and the rabbit sandwich mold, followed by taking <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">out the ham, cheese and jam from the fridge. Next, I took out my sandwich box, the dried seaweed and the seaweed puncher. Wipe the sandwich box with wet tissues to make sure it is clean. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-u1rW8hqbN-8/V39t3Is8hsI/AAAAAAAABAc/HhkW7jWXO8Q/s640/blogger-image--393966738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-u1rW8hqbN-8/V39t3Is8hsI/AAAAAAAABAc/HhkW7jWXO8Q/s400/blogger-image--393966738.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Throw the ham and cheese with bread and cut with the mold. Punch seaweed and use the jam to stick to the bread and apply 'blusher' to the rabbit. I started peeling the eggs after I was done with the bread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PZ0PbmYXNrc/V39t11pZzwI/AAAAAAAABAY/5b7kImg9Sqk/s640/blogger-image--2143296687.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PZ0PbmYXNrc/V39t11pZzwI/AAAAAAAABAY/5b7kImg9Sqk/s400/blogger-image--2143296687.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
To my horror, I realized that I didn't have any fruits for the kids so I raid my cupboard for snacks to fill the box.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It is as e<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">asy and quick as described. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Try it!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Happy weekend!!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

My kids got two hamsters last the weekend and they are super excited about their new pets. The kids requested for a hamster sandwich to bring to school today. I made this ham and cheese sandwich to keep them happy. They are Fluffy and Almond, their last known names. My kids keep changing the names of their pets and I cannot keep up. Fluffy and Almond, so be it!</div>
<br>
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cUZ7s6wxSh4/VylJsQGj6yI/AAAAAAAAA_s/QJjPpx2VwZo/s640/blogger-image--2058317434.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cUZ7s6wxSh4/VylJsQGj6yI/AAAAAAAAA_s/QJjPpx2VwZo/s400/blogger-image--2058317434.jpg" width="300"></a><br>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I saw some Sumikko gurashi merchandise and one of the animals looked like a hamster to me. Not too sure if it was a hamster but it was round and chubby so I took the hamster sandwich idea from there. </div>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZWNTsCdlgpg/VylJoe7_I_I/AAAAAAAAA_g/apcQxl_FnKc/s640/blogger-image--522437180.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZWNTsCdlgpg/VylJoe7_I_I/AAAAAAAAA_g/apcQxl_FnKc/s400/blogger-image--522437180.jpg" width="400"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used milk bread for this sandwich but frankly, I think wholemeal bread is healthier and will look nicer. I added grapes, quail eggs and a piece of chocolate biscuits to go along.</div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Below are some pictures I took when designing the sandwich. It is not a step-by-step tutorial but it will give you a rough idea how it is done. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>

I used my usual round metal bread cutter and turned it to an oval shape. Using seaweed puncher, I punched out the nose, eyes and whiskers. However, I used a pair of scissors to cut out the paws of the hamster. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used the butter knife to cut the pointed ears on the bread.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dab strawberry jam as blusher and its done. </div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="" style="clear: both;">
It looks like a mouse to me. Anyway, hamsters belong to the rodent family. They are all alike to me. At least, my kids told me that their friends know that it is a hamster sandwich, not a mouse sandwich. Hahaha…</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Maybe I should try to make another hamster sandwich that looks more like a hamster instead of a mouse. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">

<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Looking forward to the weekend!</div>

Finally, I get to sit down and share the tutorial on this.<br />
<br />
To make the seal sandwich, you will need the following :<br />
<br />
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2a49zCeCeN4/Vt-BGZatxFI/AAAAAAAAA_E/hrcyWHwZplg/s640/blogger-image--805389382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2a49zCeCeN4/Vt-BGZatxFI/AAAAAAAAA_E/hrcyWHwZplg/s320/blogger-image--805389382.jpg" width="240" /></a>Tools -<br />
1. A pair of tweezers<br />
2. Teddy bear sandwich mold<br />
3. Round bottle cap<br />
4. Seaweed puncher or a pair of scissors<br />
<br />
Ingredients for a seal sandwich -<br />
1. 3 slices of bread<br />
2. Dried seaweed<br />
3. A slice of cheese<br />
4. Strawberry jam<br />
<br />
<div>
<br />
I used a teddy bear sandwich mold for this seal sandwich as shown in picture below.<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BSs6dK7oynM/VylJwXqzWPI/AAAAAAAAA_4/OMNKZoIbSoQ/s640/blogger-image--601277239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BSs6dK7oynM/VylJwXqzWPI/AAAAAAAAA_4/OMNKZoIbSoQ/s200/blogger-image--601277239.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-sFdQPQRVF0E/Vt-BH47tAaI/AAAAAAAAA_I/O-LaTPLX7nM/s640/blogger-image-650597746.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-sFdQPQRVF0E/Vt-BH47tAaI/AAAAAAAAA_I/O-LaTPLX7nM/s200/blogger-image-650597746.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Using the ears of the teddy bear mold, I pressed out 2 circles of bread for the fin of the seal. You can use any other round shaped cutter available at home, such as a medicine bottle cap (the pink cap I use to cut the cheese for this tutorial). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Using a slice of cheddar cheese, I cut the nose of the seal with a medicine bottle cap </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lcW0QNhwjkw/VylJxpvhJmI/AAAAAAAAA_8/wJc0epTGe8U/s640/blogger-image--2125670854.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lcW0QNhwjkw/VylJxpvhJmI/AAAAAAAAA_8/wJc0epTGe8U/s200/blogger-image--2125670854.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I used a seaweed puncher for this but you can cut out the same shape using a pair of sharp scissor. The seaweed puncher is not a must to have but it does save you a lot of time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XxSMjQj4ILI/Vt-BJQOMYzI/AAAAAAAAA_M/k0oCzZ0sFoA/s640/blogger-image--1235457432.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XxSMjQj4ILI/Vt-BJQOMYzI/AAAAAAAAA_M/k0oCzZ0sFoA/s200/blogger-image--1235457432.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Lastly, apply blusher the the seals using strawberry jam as shown in the picture. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ISDPCCgphlI/VylJvMnEPjI/AAAAAAAAA_0/flQsbPWeuoE/s640/blogger-image--456662853.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ISDPCCgphlI/VylJvMnEPjI/AAAAAAAAA_0/flQsbPWeuoE/s400/blogger-image--456662853.jpg" width="353" /></a></div>
Ta-dah! The sandwich is completed. </div>

I was too busy to upload the pictures with a tutorial on it.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I saw a similar sandwich somewhere but decided to create my own since it is not the first time I made a Mamegoma seal sandwich. <a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8uy8yeiNByk/Vt-AdX7BymI/AAAAAAAAA-8/ajXgw2RjSe8/s640/blogger-image--312995110.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8uy8yeiNByk/Vt-AdX7BymI/AAAAAAAAA-8/ajXgw2RjSe8/s640/blogger-image--312995110.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
I will share the tutorial on this sandwich in another post.</div>

The kids were happy to have cute sandwiches again!</div>

Good Wednesday morning! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After bringing mummy-made sandwiches to school on Monday, the kids' classmates commented that finally the mummy is making sandwiches again. Humm…did they miss seeing the cute sandwiches?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Y5SWnzL96yQ/Vsz30YE-07I/AAAAAAAAA-o/ap2zHUF9JU8/s640/blogger-image--810772563.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="176" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Y5SWnzL96yQ/Vsz30YE-07I/AAAAAAAAA-o/ap2zHUF9JU8/s320/blogger-image--810772563.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Possible ideas for the buns</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't make hotdog bun for my kids very often but since I got some Ikea hotdog at home, I decided to make good use of it. I made a sketch of several possible designs for the bun and the kids unanimously voted for the sleeping rabbit. My personal favorite is the rabbit and cat friend but my customers are always right. Sleeping rabbit it shall be. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q8JWneklFoY/Vsz311RXuOI/AAAAAAAAA-s/9EkZ8aS45Vk/s640/blogger-image-1055076641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Q8JWneklFoY/Vsz311RXuOI/AAAAAAAAA-s/9EkZ8aS45Vk/s200/blogger-image-1055076641.jpg" width="200" /></a>My rabbits did not turn out exactly the way I sketched. I left out the 'blush' on the cheek because there wasn't any more space with the paw blocking the face. I added a small circle to the nose as the initial design was too simple. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I made each rabbit using only one slice of cheese. Each kid wanted a different colored rabbit so I made use of 2 slices of cheese, Mozzarella cheese and Cheddar cheese. I used a rabbit head mold for the head and a toothpick to curve out the rabbit's body on the cheese. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qnXWhRr473w/Vsz3y5tLWiI/AAAAAAAAA-k/L5QIpbKucqc/s640/blogger-image-2082172802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qnXWhRr473w/Vsz3y5tLWiI/AAAAAAAAA-k/L5QIpbKucqc/s200/blogger-image-2082172802.jpg" width="200" /></a>Not sure which is cuter but the yellow rabbit is definitely fatter than the white one. I was running out of mozzarella cheese and didn't want to use another slice. Hehehe…</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Apart from the bun, I added grapes, quail eggs, a small biscuit and a candy to go along.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dsf9jVkduto/Vsz3xZfVPEI/AAAAAAAAA-g/w7cWmVmXaFk/s640/blogger-image-528495260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dsf9jVkduto/Vsz3xZfVPEI/AAAAAAAAA-g/w7cWmVmXaFk/s400/blogger-image-528495260.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The final product of 2 sleeping bunnies! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I hope the kids can finish everything in the box!</div>

It has been more than a month since I made sandwiches for my kids. Even their classmates have been asking my kids why their mummy stop making cute sandwiches for them. Hahaha…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8G-mYscvf8o/VspbTdp0wZI/AAAAAAAAA-I/Uk65P9vp6uU/s640/blogger-image--30685676.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8G-mYscvf8o/VspbTdp0wZI/AAAAAAAAA-I/Uk65P9vp6uU/s200/blogger-image--30685676.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My kids told me that they wanted to try all the food in the canteen since the beginning of the year and I decided to take a break while they try out the food. Now there are certain days that sell food they like such as Laska and Chicken Chop. So on these days, I do not need to make any sandwiches for them. Now the routine has been set so I am only tasked to prepare food for them on 2 days a week at most.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Phews!</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hD_xgCCIUCk/VspbUnaPl4I/AAAAAAAAA-M/HCPG_4ZsH8Y/s640/blogger-image--168638422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hD_xgCCIUCk/VspbUnaPl4I/AAAAAAAAA-M/HCPG_4ZsH8Y/s200/blogger-image--168638422.jpg" width="200" /></a>Monday is a long day for them as they need to stay back until 5pm. I made their favorite ham and cheese sandwich as requested. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I made 2 different facial expressions on the teddy bear today and added a smily face on the eggs. Using mental heart shaped cutter, I made heart-shaped apples today because I didn't have any fruits suitable for their lunchbox. I soaked the pre-apples in salt water, hopefully the apples will not turn brown too soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gDczBnnPYEo/VspbV2GcLtI/AAAAAAAAA-Q/UZ5wEPh2N6I/s640/blogger-image-119448221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gDczBnnPYEo/VspbV2GcLtI/AAAAAAAAA-Q/UZ5wEPh2N6I/s400/blogger-image-119448221.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Which bear is cuter? Kekeke…</div>

My kids were so impressed when they saw it this morning. It gives me an idea to use all my cookie cutters for bread designs and will save me a lot of time.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QWfIZ1uwaFA/Vo9rdrhb1cI/AAAAAAAAA9w/K3QV4tfr690/s640/blogger-image--788999607.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QWfIZ1uwaFA/Vo9rdrhb1cI/AAAAAAAAA9w/K3QV4tfr690/s640/blogger-image--788999607.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I just need to spread their latest favorite jam on the bread and press the cute prints on the bread. There are quail eggs with soy sauce and fruits to go along. On top of that, I added a packets of nuts and a bottle of milk for the kids since it is going to be a long day for them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gOWzx-iPCvQ/Vo9rfN5cl0I/AAAAAAAAA94/xc7FktBq-iA/s640/blogger-image--300634372.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gOWzx-iPCvQ/Vo9rfN5cl0I/AAAAAAAAA94/xc7FktBq-iA/s640/blogger-image--300634372.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Not too sure what they want for fruits so I added blueberry, cherries and raspberries. The more the merrier!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Have a great weekend!</div>

<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SFmH3KaEPKg/Vgqf54RbOYI/AAAAAAAAA7U/735Li9t_CFY/s640/blogger-image--266112120.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SFmH3KaEPKg/Vgqf54RbOYI/AAAAAAAAA7U/735Li9t_CFY/s400/blogger-image--266112120.jpg" width="298" /></a>This is a sandwich I made for last year Halloween. It is a relatively simple sandwich to make because you will only need a ghost cookie cutter. The grave is actually 2 slices of bread and you just need to cut out a rectangle and do away with the corners. Using alphabet cutters, I form the words R.I.P on the 'grave'. You can do it without the cutters too! Just use a toothpick and draw on the cheese. I cut seaweed for the face of the ghost and there are eyeballs made of bread in the box too! Using cling wrap to wrap the round bread, I added stickers to it. It is really up to your imagination on how you want the eyeballs to appear. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DriVIPcjJiE/Vgqf1HKsM0I/AAAAAAAAA7M/WMpJ7Gzyuy0/s640/blogger-image--42497333.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DriVIPcjJiE/Vgqf1HKsM0I/AAAAAAAAA7M/WMpJ7Gzyuy0/s320/blogger-image--42497333.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I could not resist buying the orange Halloween design bags from my favorite shop (and I still have the bags today). I add funny eyes stickers to the marshmallow and jelly. Not to mention some candies too! What is Halloween without candies for kids, right? :) </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The overall recess pack look spooky enough? :)</div>

<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0ZcUrOd7lGY/VgqgPpHkmpI/AAAAAAAAA7s/WzIUnjyaHdI/s640/blogger-image--1242629136.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0ZcUrOd7lGY/VgqgPpHkmpI/AAAAAAAAA7s/WzIUnjyaHdI/s400/blogger-image--1242629136.jpg" width="299" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Forgive me for the blurry picture. This sandwich has been made using the same mental ring. I covered the bread with strips of cheese and applied some strawberry jam as blood on the mummy. Using a piece of dried seaweed and some marshmallow for the eyes of the mummy and the dangling spider. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The fat spider below is made from bread and using noodle crackers for the legs. I used chopsticks to poke the eyes. Simple right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D4H2uUvMYYM/VgqgNzJjs2I/AAAAAAAAA7k/AseM2uX3E5Y/s640/blogger-image-555340718.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D4H2uUvMYYM/VgqgNzJjs2I/AAAAAAAAA7k/AseM2uX3E5Y/s320/blogger-image-555340718.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
These spiders and spooky heads followed my kids to a picnic. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
They finished all the food without saying. </div>

This is a easy tutorial on how to make skull sandwich for Halloween. It is super easy and can be done in minutes. No need to sweat a bucket!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l7ogGsBdw9c/Vg0FfYrO9PI/AAAAAAAAA9I/U_SLcnJB3QQ/s640/blogger-image--633296300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l7ogGsBdw9c/Vg0FfYrO9PI/AAAAAAAAA9I/U_SLcnJB3QQ/s400/blogger-image--633296300.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Tools Required :</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1. A pair of scissors</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
2. A pair of tweezers</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
3. A mental ring cutter</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4. A small round cap</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
5. Strawberry jam</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
6. Dried seaweed</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dLM7HI6tLC8/Vg3Tm8UaSEI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/37F9syIydX8/s640/blogger-image-1884636503.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dLM7HI6tLC8/Vg3Tm8UaSEI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/37F9syIydX8/s200/blogger-image-1884636503.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kf5IBKcFekQ/Vg0Fd-HEo4I/AAAAAAAAA9A/x_fsz7nbQEg/s640/blogger-image--256054495.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kf5IBKcFekQ/Vg0Fd-HEo4I/AAAAAAAAA9A/x_fsz7nbQEg/s320/blogger-image--256054495.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Step 1 : Using the circle mental ring, cut 2 slices of bread into 2 big circles.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Step 2 : Using the small round cap, cut out 2 eyes on the bread and use the scissors to create nostrils on the bread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Step 3 : Spread the jam on the 2nd piece of bread and complete the sandwich.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Step 4 : Using the scissors, cut the seaweed into thin strips and form the mouth. Using the strawberry jam as 'glue' to stick the seaweed to the bread, apply to bread with the help of the tweezers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
And you will have your Halloween skull sandwich! Simple!</div>

Halloween is coming and I get my chance to make creepy sandwiches again!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0BkgbeeX3QY/VgyGBrZ0KbI/AAAAAAAAA8U/voBE_8btEko/s640/blogger-image--702592652.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0BkgbeeX3QY/VgyGBrZ0KbI/AAAAAAAAA8U/voBE_8btEko/s320/blogger-image--702592652.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lU_WwgvqIW8/Vg0FaD7u0WI/AAAAAAAAA8w/6nLBtRNkJp8/s640/blogger-image--388710716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lU_WwgvqIW8/Vg0FaD7u0WI/AAAAAAAAA8w/6nLBtRNkJp8/s320/blogger-image--388710716.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The kids had to stay back quite late today so I packed more food for their recess cum lunchbox. A skull strawberry jam sandwich, a Frankenstein slice of panda cake, bloody hotdog human fingers, an egg and some fruits. </div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
The skull sandwich is very simple to make and I will share the steps in another post. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
I used permanent marker to draw on their milk bottles after removing the labels. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both;">
Ta-da! Their spooky Halloween sandwich set! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
